At the Hotel Podgorica, 06.09.2017, a conference was held: "JAKA model for strong Montenegro", organization CARE International Balkan on social entrepreneurship of marginalized categories of population as an efficient method of reducing poverty, organized in cooperation with the Open Center of Bona Fide and the Center for Roma Nikšić Initiative. The conference was attended by over 100 participants, representatives of non-governmental organizations, state institutions, donor organizations and agencies, both from Montenegro and from the region. The presence of women entrepreneurs from Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina was particularly precious.
The Regional Conference was organized under two CARE projects in Montenegro: "Socio-entrepreneurship: a step towards independence" funded by the European Union and "Social Inclusion through Economic Empowerment of Women - JAKA", funded by the Austrian Development Agency and the OAK Foundation.
At the conference, it was estimated that Montenegro did not use nearly all the opportunities and potential that Social Entrepreneurship in Montenegro could have. What could certainly be helpful is the legal regulation that has for years gone by, as well as the strategy of social entrepreneurship development.
