Roma women association „BOLJA BUDUĆNOST“ Tuzla is female Roma NGO that through socio-economic programs, human rights, advocacy programs and political participation contributes improvement of the living conditions of the Roma population with a focus on Roma women.
We were founded on February 8th, 2001 as the first female Roma organization in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the Ministry of Justice and Administration of Tuzla Canton. Respecting the high moral values, we grew and developed. At present, we have 10 employees in the organization, but we work on various projects and activities with over 50 volunteers and external associates. Our members and beneficiaries are mostly Roma women, but also non- Roma women because our general mission is to fight for a better position and greater equality of women in our region. So far, we have successfully implemented over 130 projects on local, national and regional level. We estimate that we have over 30,000 beneficiaries over the past few years and indirectly more than that.
We believe that our entire work contributes to the achievement of our vision as well; Bosnia and Herzegovina as a country of equal citizens in which Roma women fully exercised all rights and participate actively and equally in all spheres of social life in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
